‘Omiros’ is a Greek creation by cross between selections of domestic local ecotypes of vetch.
It is considered to be of an early mature high yield winter type variety, adaptable to the Greek and Mediterranean environments. It possess a cold hardiness until -10o C .
Plants stay low during the winter, to avoid cold and when spring comes their hay grows rapidly, creating lots of seeds.
‘Omiros’ is great either for hay or for seed production.
Seeds give proteins in a percentage between 22% and 27 % and they are an important source of energy and phosphorus.
